eIconic Mexican artist Frida Kahlo was born, lived and died in the Blue House, also known as Museo Frida Kahlo. A visit to this historic landmark affords the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the evocative painter. And at the Museo Dolores Olmedo we'll continue our exploration as we browse nearly 150 works by Diego Rivera.
At the southern edge of the D.F., in Xochimilco, is a network of canals bound by water gardens. Over the years the waterways have shifted their focus from agriculture to tourism. We'll take part in this shift by gliding through the canals on brightly decorated gondolas, a favorite weekend activity for locals. And finally, for the foodies, while one might argue that this entire tour is a lesson in gastronomy, we will none-the-less tuck into a day dedicated to the sabor of a nation and top it off with the singular taste of Tequila.
